Welcome to the School of Economics and Finance

This site is designed to introduce you to the School of Economics and Finance, the programmes and papers we offer, and the staff who are involved in delivering these. You will also find information on our research interests and outputs and the current activities of our School. For students, I hope this site will whet your appetite for studying in the school and help you design a coherent programme of study. Economics

Students majoring in economics develop theoretical and analytical skills useful for decision making. These are applied to a range of topical, significant policy issues. Economics focuses on complex interrelationships, whereby a change in one area will have repercussions elsewhere. Most of life's important questions are of this nature. read more

Finance

Finance is a decision-orientated discipline relating to the management of personal and organizational resources. The Finance major allows students to structure a personal study programme incorporating a wide range of disciplines to help develop their numeracy, logic and analytical skills. read more

Property

Our aim is to produce graduates who are literate, numerate and knowledgeable. We pride ourselves on offering educational programmes relevant to the needs of the property professions and the wider public. read more

Banking

The Centre for Banking Studies is New Zealand's only educational resource dedicated to the teaching of banking studies. The Centre is part of Massey University, renowned as a leading provider of university-level distance education in New Zealand and is located on the Manawatu campus in Palmerston North. read more
